The Cubley 18 provides single gear simplicity as children continue to master their confidence with the sole focus being balance and steering. Less weight helps smaller riders start easier, accelerate faster and handle the bike with more control so at only 7.56kg the Cubley 18" is the ideal final stepping stone before gears!

Helping a child learn to ride a bike for the first time is one of the most rewarding experiences of our lifetime. The Cubley 18 is designed to make a child’s transition from their first bike to a larger 20" bike with gears as easy and enjoyable as possible. Many children jump to a bike with gears far too soon and are typically seen spinning their legs like bees wings or grunting in a big gear! Our advice would be to let them master their confidence, braking and bike handling first then move them to gears when they're ready- without rushing it.
