The Kinder 20 only weighs 8.47kg making this one of the lightest bikes in the world for its price point and specification! Less weight helps smaller riders start easier, accelerate faster, and handle the bike with more control.
At Forme we are passionate about encouraging young ones to cycle more. The performance of a bike can often be the difference between a bike ride and actual cycling. The Kinder is designed to be light, have the best components and inspire confidence. With all key points considered, the Forme Kinder is arguably the lightest best performing kid’s bike on the market.

Narrow handlebar and shorter stem
Our handlebar width is based on the typical shoulder width of the rider and the stem length is shorter, helping to reduce reach.
Junior specific saddle
The Kinder saddle is sized for smaller riders with length and width optimized, ensuring the rider position is correct for both comfort and reach.
Wheels & tyres
The weight of all wheel components are considered to keep them as light as possible which helps to improve steering, and acceleration. Also equipped with great all weather Kenda Small Block 8 tyres which ensure maximum grip and stability for cornering.
Frame size and shape
Forme frames are made from narrow, lightweight aluminium tubing with a low step over. A compact frame ensures the rider can ride with the largest wheel possible for their size and this help young riders to ride over much tougher terrain.
Pedals
Our pedals are carefully considered. If the platform is too long it is easy to fall into the habit of applying pressure with the heel instead of the ball of the foot, losing power and causing the foot to slip. Equally, if the pedal is too wide, the legs can become too wide apart, reducing efficiency.
Sureshift Shifter Extender
All Kinders come with a colour matching Sureshift Shifter Extender. It slides over the 'up gear' action trigger, creating a larger surface area that reduces the shifters tension and shortens its leverage arc. It's bright, colour matching, stand-out appearance helps them learner faster too, as they can easily identify which is the 'easy' gear shifter.
A bike model appearing on this website does not guarantee its availability at every one of our independent bike dealers.

How can Forme be better than a junior only bike brand?
We are on a mission to get as many people riding bikes and enjoying cycling as possible. Kids bikes are just the start of the journey.
Our background, rounded experience as bike riders, parents and designers help us to take much more of an holistic approach when developing our high performance junior bikes. Most kids and grown up's can often remember their first bike so why stop offering choices when kids grow out of our junior bikes?
Forme bikes have a great team of people and have evolved to become the largest multi category British bike brand, thanks to the support of our customers, capable of scaling up our product range without compromising focus in any of the categories we represent.
Should I buy a bike my child can grow in to?
Our recommendation is to buy a bike which fits the best at the time. It's always tempting to buy a bike a child will grow in to in attempt to make is last as long as possible. This is completely understandable when you consider how many times a child will need a new bike between toddler and teen!
Our sizing guide shows a range of inseam lengths for each wheel size. If you're buying a new bike we recommend selecting a wheel size equal or up to 1cm longer than the minimum inseam measurement.
As our bikes hold their value very well, many of our specialist retailers will often provide a return and replace scheme as your child is ready for the next wheel size. We also partner thebikeclub.co.uk who offer a monthly subscription service enabling you to replace the bike as soon as they grow to reach the next wheel size so your child will always have the right size bike.

Why don’t you use disc brakes on kids bikes?Â
The short answer is quality V-brakes on lightweight ATB's such as the Kinder or Cubley offer better all-round riding performance on a small wheel kids bike. Disc brakes add unnecessary weight unless they are a higher quality hydraulic disc brakes featured at higher price points on specific bikes.
We do use disc brakes on our 24 and 26 Black Rocks and Curbar Mountain bikes as well as our race specific Calver Cyclo Cross and road bikes as the quality and associated price points justify their selection without a weight penalty.
Where are your bikes made?
We use a handful of factories for our range depending on the price point and category. This helps us to achieve the highest quality and value for each price point.
Our bikes are designed and tested in Derbyshire and the Peak District, England. They are then manufactured and assembled in Asia.
Almost every brand uses Asia-based production of frames and components as they are the global leaders of high-quality bicycle production. Some other high-quality brands claim to be made in Europe although they are usually only assembled in Europe. By working with our partner factories in Asia we are able to scale up our production as we grow, offer more competitive prices and deliver bikes to our retailers more frequently.
What quality guarantee do you offer?
We offer a lifetime guarantee on all our frames from the first owner. All other components are also guaranteed for 1 year from the day of purchase. The guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, damage from a crash or poor maintenance.
Please register your bike from point of purchase to activate your guarantee with us and ensure you keep a copy of your receipt. Should you experience any problem please contact the retailer you purchased from and they will handle the process efficiently with our customer services team.
Can I swap my bike when it's too small?
As our bikes hold their value very well, many of our specialist retailers will often provide a return and replace scheme as your child is ready for the next wheel size. We also partner thebikeclub.co.uk who offer a monthly subscription service enabling you to replace the bike as soon as they grow to reach the next wheel size so your child will always have the right size bike.
