The Calver frame stretches beyond a thorough-bred Cyclocross racing frame. With on-point geometry, exceptional clearance and class leading weight, the Calver can be custom built and capable of it all.
The Calver series has become one of our most iconic product ranges over recent years, with no fewer than 5 world and national championship or series wins. Designed initially as a pure thoroughbred-racing tool, for the specific demands of a Cyclo-Cross race.
The Calver frame is one of the lightest aluminium disc-brake compatible aluminium frames available. Developed with the assistance of some of the UK’s most experienced and successful Cyclo-Cross racers our ambition was to deliver race-winning performance at an affordable real-world price point. Its geometry, weight and general all round ability are factors which lend themselves perfectly to being a rocket race machine for cyclo-cross and criteriums as well as an all-day adventure companion. Perhaps the N+1 rule should be applied to wheelsets instead!
Compatible with the largest range of cranks and less prone to creaking by being isolated from the frameset. This is a benefiting factor to consider when the frame is constantly exposed to mud, sand and grit.
Race Optimised Tube Profiles
The underside of the top tube is flattened for shouldering the bike easily and as comfortably as possible during running sections.
Flat Mount Disc Fittings
Disc brakes are here to stay in Cyclo-Cross! Flat Mount Disc brake options support a clean and compact braking system.
Thru Axle Levers
Removable thru axle levers double up as a handy multi tool with 4mm and 5mm hex keys for quick adjustments to saddle height or handle bar position.
Integrated Cable Routing
To extend cable life and deliver faultless gear changes, all inner cables are fully sleeved and internally routed inside the frame and fork to ensure protection against water, ice, mud and sand during the race and high-pressure jet washers during pit cleaning laps.
Tyre Clearance & Mud Shedding Frame Stays
Cyclo-Cross personifies our Formed by the UK stance. Insufficient frame clearance on a wet & muddy race in the middle of December has ruined many a race. The Calver offers exceptional clearance across the full circumference of the tyre by reinforcing the rear triangle and bottom bracket shell of the frame allowing us to remove the chain stay bridge altogether and heighten the seat stay bridge.

FAQ
How can Forme be better than a junior only bike brand?
We are on a mission to get as many people riding bikes and enjoying cycling as possible. Kids bikes are just the start of the journey.
Our background, rounded experience as bike riders, parents and designers help us to take much more of an holistic approach when developing our high performance junior bikes. Most kids and grown up's can often remember their first bike so why stop offering choices when kids grow out of our junior bikes?
Forme bikes have a great team of people and have evolved to become the largest multi category British bike brand, thanks to the support of our customers, capable of scaling up our product range without compromising focus in any of the categories we represent.
Why don’t you have any 24'' or 26'' cyclocross bikes?
Our bikes are built to last with premium grade, lightweight aluminium frames and forks. They are also equipped with best in class, high quality components. The improved quality ensures our bikes hold much of their value, they have a sustainable lifecycle and don't end up in landfill. Due to strong re-sale value, our bikes arguably work out cheaper in the long run than many budget low quality bikes if they are taken care of. Forme junior bikes are sold by over 300 retailers in the UK and we are the leading brand for the UK's largest specialist junior bike provider so hopefully these numbers speak for themselves and give you the confidence you are looking for if you haven't heard of Forme before.
Why do you use disc brakes on cyclocross bikes?
Cyclocross bikes are used on terrain with very mixed ground conditions often prone to clogging with mud. Disc brakes provide a more consistent braking performance in all circumstances. Cyclocross bikes with the old cantilever style brakes are almost obsolete now so our disc compatible Calver allows for many different wheel upgrade options too.
What should I look out for when buying a kids bike?
Fit and product longevity are the most important factors for your child to get the most out of their riding experience in a hassle free manner.
When comparing bikes from different brands there's actually a lot to look out for! We have tried to help you identify all the individual performance benefits on our product pages.
What quality guarantee do you offer?
We offer a lifetime guarantee on all our frames from the first owner. All other components are also guaranteed for 1 year from the day of purchase. The guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, damage from a crash or poor maintenance.
Please register your bike from point of purchase to activate your guarantee with us and ensure you keep a copy of your receipt. Should you experience any problem please contact the retailer you purchased from and they will handle the process efficiently with our customer services team.
Where are your bikes made?
We use a handful of factories for our range depending on the price point and category. This helps us to achieve the highest quality and value for each price point.
Our bikes are designed and tested in Derbyshire and the Peak District, England. They are then manufactured and assembled in Asia.
Almost every brand uses Asia based production of frames and components as they are the global leaders of high-quality bicycle production. Some other high quality brands claim to be made in Europe although they are usually only assembled in Europe. By working with our partner factories in Asia we are able to scale up our production as we grow, offer more competitive prices and deliver bikes to our retailers more frequently.
