Bikeability & kids on bikes.
As a British brand, we are very keen to support any cycling initiatives introduced by our Department for Transport to boost our sport and 2 wheeled mobility. Forme Bikes are an official sponsor of the government funded Bikeability Programme.
Bikeability is a hugely impactful Cycling Training course. Qualified instructors and volunteers deliver sessions throughout the year in most local authorities in England. Children and adults can be trained individually or in groups, through school, clubs or private tuition.
Sometimes a lack of confidence towards riding is the only reason we don't see more children riding to school or adults riding to work. Bikeability (hyperlink) helps many millions of people across our nation gain practical skills and an understanding of how to cycle on today’s roads.
Mission to get girls on bikes!
Driven by our Ambassador Club and partners, Ilkeston Cycling Club, we are on a mission to get more girls on bikes! We are not trying to make any statement about inclusivity and prefer to let our actions do the talking. However, it is a fact that far fewer girls participate in sport when they become teenagers. Our mission is to inspire confidence by driving an increase in participation and desirability.
Dedicated to sport.
We are proud partners and members of new generation cycling club, Ilkeston CC (ICC), and directly involved with the coaching of its growing youth academy in a bid to give something back to both grass roots sport and today's youngsters. The club has well over 100 kids participating in the Academy of all levels and abilities, ranging from age 2 Balance bikers to teenagers looking for a pathway to competitive sport.
